JEFF TEACH
Co-owner/Head Strength & Conditioning Coach/NSCA-CSCS, Kettlebell & CrossFit Certified
Still very competitive he cycles as a Category 3 road racer, and NORBA Sport Level/Clydesdale Mountain Bike Racer. He has run the Marine Corps Marathon 3:05 and Boston Marathon 3:16.
He is known as a silent but scary trainer. NEVER make the mistake of telling Jeff a workout was easy.
On his days off you’ll find him with Christa and their son Gordon and twin girls Eleni & Zephera. He loves camping or looking for serenity in a fly-fishing rod.
CHRISTA DALAKIS
Co-owner/Trainer/Softball Instruction
Christa was a two sport division I scholarship athlete in Women’s Fast-pitch Softball and Women’s Volleyball at George Mason University. After graduating she played with the Connecticut Brakettes, a semi-pro team.
In August 2002 Christa made the Greek National Softball Team which won GOLD at the 2003 European Championships B-Pool. In 2004 she was selected to be an alternate and assistant coach for the team at the OLYMPIC SUMMER GAMES in Athens, Greece. In 2005 she helped the team win an A Pool Silver at the European Championships.
In the gym Christa is known for her sarcasm and her ability to ‘Christa’ people. To be Christa’d is to suddenly find yourself doing something you had no intention of doing. Not a bad trick for a trainer!
Christa enjoys spending her time off with Jeff and their son Gordon and twin girls Eleni & Zephera. She loves anything to do with being out doors.
Clay was born and raised in Reston. He grew up playing ice hockey and was recruited for junior hockey at the age of 15. Clay then went to play in top leagues in Ontario and the US. He then went on to play at Liberty University.
Clay now teaches hockey part-time as well as trains at BREAKAWAY. He is certified through NASM and is CPR certified.
Clay still competes in recreational adult hockey and loves to push heavy weight around. In his free time he loves to travel and spend time with family. He is a great conversationalist, but don’t think you will sit around drinking coffee and chatting as he also likes to push in the work outs!

TYLER QUINN
Strength & Conditioning Coach – ACE Certified
Tyler holds a BS in Kinesiology with focus in physical education from Shenandoah University. While at Shenandoah Tyler played lacrosse as the starting goalie, that special kind of crazy it takes to be a goalie. After college Tyler accepted a physical education job in Norfolk, VA at a small private school teaching elementary and middle school. When he decided that was not the right fit for him he came back up to northern Virginia and began personal training at 24 hour fitness before joining the BREAKAWAY team.
Tyler spends his days working in the Arlington School system as a PE teacher and fills in for BREAKAWAY on the weekends. He is high energy and likes to have some fun in his workouts!
